Top 7 Mastermind Tips – Part 1

So I just spent $12K to join a Mastermind group just to get them to
help me with a domain name…but more on that in a minute.

First, I want to share with you the top 7 tips I contributed to the
Mastermind Group I attended the other week.

business coach and soon to be WORLD FAMOUS internet marketer and
Sundance Film Festival Movie Star. (More on that in the July OSP CD
of the Month).

And I think the key to a good Mastermind is giving, so here are some
of the ideas I shared over the weekend…

Tip #1 – The Audience is More Important than the Copy

If you struggle with writing copy, I have some good news for you.

Just as you can’t out-train a bad diet, you can’t “out-sell” a badpizza treadmill Top 7 Mastermind Tips   Part 1

audience. If you’re in front of the wrong people, even the best
copy in the world won’t work.

But if you focus on getting your message in front of a “starving
crowd” (people who are begging to get your info), even beginner copy
will still make a lot of sales.

So put just as much effort into attracting the right people to your
offer as you do worrying about writing perfect copy.

Tip #2 – You Still Need to Write the Best Copy You Can…

…and it should make the reader want to run their head through a
brick wall just to get your product.

Are you getting your prospects excited about the solution you have
for their problem? If yes, you’ll make sales. If not, you won’t.

In order to write copy that good, you need to be focused on giving
them a SOLUTION to their biggest PROBLEM.

Make them know you understand what they are going through, and then
give them tons of social proof that your solution will deliver all
the benefits they desire.

Tip #3 – Give Away More FREE Stuff Than You Think You Should…

…and always make it your best stuff. Trust me, from my personal
results I’ve found that the more stuff I give away for free, the
better my sales.

I give away free instruction in youtube videos, free workouts on my
blog, and free advice in a weekly podcast.

The biggest impact has been giving away the workouts on the blog.
That’s right, giving away what I sell has actually given me the
biggest boost in my sales.

So get GIVING!

3 Money Making Questions You MUST Ask Yourself

I hate getting emails like the one that showed up last Wednesday.

It was from a trainer who had bought a “catchy website name”, built
an entire product and webpage, and then wondered why no one was
buying.

The answer?

He forced the product on the market.

No one – except him – would ever go online looking for the product
that he created.

And I see this done over and over and over and over again.

7 Best Time Management Tips

I mean really, seriously, effectively getting things done?

If you’re just not getting as much done as you’d like, you’re going
to love these 7 simple strategies for boosting your productivity.

When I was speaking in Jersey at the Fast Track to Millions event,
host Jim Labadie introduced me as the man known for being the most
productive online fitness expert in the biz.

All thanks to a simple system revolving around these 7 steps to
getting more done.

Block your time.

Block your time.

Step #1 – Block Your Time

Keep a notebook beside your desk. At the end of each day, spend 5
minutes planning out then next day in 15 minute increments.

Yes, 15 minute increments.

This will keep you on track and away from time-wasters like Twitter
and Facebook. You’ll get twice as much done tomorrow as you did
today if you just implement that one tip.

I also realize that I’ve probably lost half – or more than half – of
my readers by now.

Too much work, they think.

But that kind of thinking is why most people end up working too much.

Step #2 – Eliminate unnecessary communication

You don’t need to reply to every email and text message. You don’t
need to answer the phone every time it rings. Block time for that
and focus on the project at hand.

Step #3 – Get one thing done first thing in the AM.

Before you go to work, get one thing done on your Internet biz that
moves you one step closer to financial freedom.

Do not pass “GO” and do not collect breakfast until you do.

This simple step followed at 4:40am in the morning for 2 years
straight allowed me to go from full time trainer to doing exactly
what I want, when I want, everyday for the rest of my life.

Step #4 – Do not get sucked into email.

Don’t you dare check email till after you’ve made some money and
moved your business ahead. And don’t keep checking it all day long.
Block time for it, then move on.

Get a bigger computer monitor, eliminate distractions from your
office, turn off the phone, and disconnect the Internet if you must.

When it’s time to work, WORK.

When it’s time for fun, stop working.

Separate the two environments and you’ll be much happier and more
effective at work and in your social life.

Step #6 – Monitor yourself to see where your time goes.

Take that notepad from Step #1 and carry it with you all day. Write
down what you are doing every 15 minutes. Are you on track with your
plan? If not, why not?

Identify what wastes your time and cut that out of your life.

You only get one life, don’t waste it. Your kids are only 4 years
old once, don’t miss that. Don’t let your time pull a vanishing act.

Step #7 – Set a strict sleeping schedule.

I believe the most important think I have ever done to give myself
more energy and make myself more productive was committing to a set
bedtime and wake-up time every day. SEVEN days per week.

Like you, I’d probably read that tip a hundred times in various
articles about sleep, but when I finally put it into practice, it
made a bigger difference than any diet or exercise change I’ve made.

And make sure you get up early, too. That’s when the magic is done.

That’s when you can get 2 hours of “regular” work done in just 15
minutes.

BONUS TIP: Surround yourself with competent people who can do the
grunt work for you.

If you really want to move ahead, you probably need to outsource 95%
of the stuff you do now.

Keep looking for people to take over the minimum wage work for you.

Try Craigslist. Give tasks to a competent client looking for work or
willing to barter with you for free training.

Take a deep breath, relax, and delegate. It might not always be done
the way you want, but sometimes it will even be done BETTER!

Online success is all about bringing personality and trust into the marketing of your products.

The best thing for you to do is…

- start a blog

- become a trusted source of information in your niche market

- put together an amazing free report on the 7 things folks don’t know about succeeding in your niche market (the mistakes they make when doing X,Y,Z, etc.)

- create simple homemade videos about your products and about you, introducing yourself to the world and telling your story about how you got into your niche and about what makes you do what you do

(that is powerful stuff right there and allows you to connect to complete strangers online)

7 Website Traffic Sources that Makes Money Online

Let’s talk about website traffic. After all, it’s the “holy grail” of making money online.

No one I know feels they get enough traffic. In fact, most people think, “if I could just get a little more traffic to my website then all of my problems would be solved”.

Well, if that’s the case…let me try and help.

Here are some of my top traffic sources, and not only do I peel backmy business and share big numbers with you…but I even tell you how much money these traffic sources are making me.

That way, you can decide if they are worth your time.

(NOTE: One of the BIG lessons about what you’re about to learn is not in the numbers, but simply the fact that I have the numbers…most website owners don’t even bother to track or test anything…and that’s why they don’t make money online and the Internet remains a struggle for them…take note and get tracking!)

1) First, Youtube.

Personally, I think Youtube is great, but it’s only a small piece ofthe puzzle. In the last 365 days, Youtube has sent me about 31000 visitors.

According to Google Analytics, the average visitor value is 15 cents, so in the last year Youtube has made me at least $4500.

But I need to explain a couple of things that makes me think the number is much bigger than that…

Whenever I survey TT Members on how they found out about Turbulence Training, lots of folks say Youtube. In fact, its a much higher number than Google Analytics would suggest. So maybe they heard about TT somewhere else, but didn’t “trust” Turbulence Training until they saw a Youtube video.

This info, along with something Dan Kennedy recently said to me, is making me change my entire Youtube strategy. More about that in a future OSP newsletter.

Also, you can’t “really trust” Google Analytics for sales reports. For some reason it seems to under-report sales. So look at Analytics as the online tracking version of a handheld body fat scale – it tells you the “direction” you’re going, but the numbers aren’t deadly accurate.

Alright, that’s Youtube, let’s look at another FREE traffic source…

2) Blogs

My Ugly FREE Blogger Blog – Turbulence Training Workouts

In the last year, it has sent 33,444 visitors, with an average value of 47 cents, so posting to that blog contributed at least $15,718 to the TT bottom line. That’s a good return on investment…(plus, it doesn’t count affiliate sales, membership site sales, and backend clickbank sales).

My fancy, schmancy new Wordpress Blog – TT Fat Loss Workout Routines

This site has only been up about 8-10 weeks, but it is already one of my top traffic sources, however for some reason the visitor value is much lower than my old, ugly blog. Probably getting more SEO traffic to the old blog, and a lot of current customers going to the new blog (so they wouldn’t end up buying).

But in a few weeks we’ve done 14,000 visits from TTFatLoss.com, but at only $0.15 per visitor for a total of about $2K. I expect that to go up big time over the next year.

3) Ezine Articles

Everyone and their dog (but not my dog) submits articles to Ezine…so what are my results?

In the last year, 15,281 visitors, at a measly $0.13 per visitor, for a total of about $2K

And remember, I have over 200 articles there…so it’s not that great. Just another (small) piece of the puzzle.

4) Twitter!

Yes, I make money from Twitter. Otherwise, I doubt I’d be using it. After all, I’m not that interesting that the world needs to hear from me everyday.

So in the last 6 months since I got serious, we’ve sent 4200 visitors at $0.24 for a total of $1100. However, I’ve also added 2 OSP clients at $6K coaching and consulting…PLUS, I’m betting there are definitely a lot of folks who find their way from Twitter to TT that don’t get recorded in Analytics.

Verdict: Twitter is worth it. You just have to do it right like I do at www.TurbulenceTwitter.com

5) Top Affiliates

One of my top affiliates has a very popular blog. He’s sent 15,000 visitors at $0.20 for a total of $3K in the last 8 months or so. Again, I think that number is artificially depressed and real $$$ values are higher.

6) SEO/Organic Traffic

Using my OSP Entourage Marketing System helped me get 146,000 organic search visitors last year, and at $0.37 per visitor, it was worth at least $54K

And speaking of the Entourage Marketing System, that brings me to my biggest traffic source…

7) Direct traffic

That means people that go right to Google and type in my website name because they had been pre-sold on Turbulence Training through my Entourage-building techniques.

This gave me 385,000 visitors last year at $0.39 and a bottom line of over $150K.

All thanks to building my Entourage. In fact, everything from affiliates to blogs to Twitter to Youtube is part of the OSP Entourage Marketing System.

It’s a proven system too, not just working for me, but also for experts like Vince DelMonte and Joel Marion. Both are OSP students and both cracked the $100K barrier on Clickbank this month.

Here are 3 of the 10 best money making tips I wrote down from the Dan Kennedy SuperConference I attended on the weekend…(the remaining 7 will be reviewed in the June OSP Inner Circle newsletter

1) Make Money with Speed

Ooops, this isn’t actually from the seminar, but it’s still a great tip…

On the flight home I read the latest “Inc.” magazine, and it had an interview with Zappos CEO, Tony Hsieh. They asked Tony what ONE thing would he do differently, and he said:

“I’d do things FASTER”.

That was the kick in the butt/slap across the face I needed to come home and move a couple of my projects ahead faster.

As a result, I made an extra $217 directly attributable to doing things faster on Monday.

So what can you do faster today?

Please don’t tell me you are still trying to finish the same e-book you started last December. Just get it done already!

Quit going slow…and start doing things FASTER by TAKING ACTION today!

2) Add more VALUE

One of the best things Kennedy said this weekend was, “if your sales are down, its because you aren’t giving enough value”.

So what can you do to add value to your ebook offer, membership site, or bootcamp classes. Don’t get stuck in a rut. Don’t get complacent. Add more value and “astonish” your audience, and you’ll get happier customers who stick around longer.

3) Sell Different

When Kennedy told the crowd to…

- sell differently
- sell something different
- sell to someone different

…I felt like he was describing my Turbulence Training Bootcamp project, because that is exactly what I did.

I hit a new market in a different way with a new angle. And the results were so good it even shocked me! I’ve basically created an entirely NEW 6-figure business from scratch, just by being different.

So can you sell to someone different? Sell something else? Sell to someone else?

However, in addition to just being different, there was one other thing I did to make this a HUGE success, and NOT doing this is a mistake made by 95% of folks who try to sell stuff online.

Facebook Fitness Marketing

Twitter this. Facebook that. It seems like everyone is talking about Facebook and Twitter these days.

The problem is that you have Facebook and Twitter accounts and only seem to waste time talking to old high school friends. So are these “social media” sites useless or are they really a good way to build your business?

The good news is that Facebook and Twitter are PROVEN ways to build bootcamps, market your gym, and even sell more fitness ebooks and DVD’s.

My research has shown that Twitter is better for selling e-books while Facebook is better for getting clients to bootcamps, gyms, and personal training. So let’s look at Facebook first.

The most popular way to use Facebook is to set up a personal profile and become friends with everyone you’ve ever known. But when using Facebook for professional reasons, you need to be picky about who you friend.

Focus on building a network of quality Facebook friends, as this can be even more powerful than building an email list, because with Facebook, you can learn much more demographic information about your friends (birthdays, age, interests, etc.).

The real power of Facebook is found in what is called, “the news feed”. Every activity and action you take inside of Facebook is relayed to everyone in your network (i.e. your friends) and this can spread virally.

The BEST way to use the power of the news feed is to share video and photos of your bootcamps and personal training facility. This will alert all of your Facebook friends, and if one of them watches your video, it will alert all of their friends that they are watching your video.

That’s how your video can spread between networks and will attract high quality connections back to you.

You can also get high quality friends by creating a Facebook group. For example, if you live in Bellevue, Nebraska, you might start a Bellevue Fitness group, and invite everyone in Fargo who lists “fitness” as one of their interests to join.

This is a great way to build quality friends and you can then have a conversation about fitness with those people, and eventually turn them to the topic of your training.

Each day you should add up to 20 new friends, focusing on high quality friends. You could even outsource the “friending” of people to an assistant. For everyone that signs up for your group, your assistant could go through their friend list and “add/friend” everyone from their list.

However, always focus on building relationships first, and don’t be too heavy-handed with your marketing or always asking people to buy or signup for training or bootcamps.

Instead, just be friends and become a trusted expert in the area of fitness to your Facebook network. Once folks trust you, they will be happy and eager to pay for your services.

Finally, you can also use Facebook is to start a Fan Page. This might sound silly, but if you run a bootcamp in Bellevue with 60 members who also use Facebook, then you should start a Fan Page devoted to your bootcamp and invite all of your members to join.

This way, you can communicate directly to those fans without having to go through email (and therefore you don’t have to worry about pesky spam filters).

Plus, building a Fan Page will get indexed by Google, and folks searching for “Bellevue Bootcamp” on Google will have a good chance of coming across your Facebook Fan Page.

Just remember to put your keywords in the title of your Facebook Fan Page. Building a Fan Page is one of the fastest ways to get business boosting results with Facebook.

Even though that sounds like a lot of work, you only need to spend 10 minutes a day on Facebook. Log in, post a link, update your status, add a video, and tell your friends to check it out. That’s it.

3 Tips to Beat Recession & Make More Money Online

Writing this after a crazy first day in rainy Chicago at the Dan Kennedy SuperConference…

…where we got to hear from the lovely and talented Ivanka Trump (aka The Donald’s daughter).

Smart girl. Very articulate.

Of course, Kennedy’s smart too, just not as easy on the eyes.

He gave us 3 strategies to beat the recession, and it all had to do with who, how, and what we were selling. By making simple changes in those details, we can make a LOT more money, even in tough times.

Case in point:

My TT Bootcamp Workouts package.

1) I changed WHAT I was selling (from “fat loss” to “biz opp”).

2) I changed HOW I sold it (used different affiliates).

3) I changed WHO I sold it to (targeted trainers and folks interested in making a career change).

This big shift, and the profits I made, are directly due to advice I’ve gotten from Kennedy’s books, CD’s, and newsletters.

The guy is one of the best small-business marketing minds on the planet.

But like all of us, Kennedy’s made a few mistakes.

In fact, at my OSP seminar back in 2007 I talked about the 3 lessons he wished he knew earlier in his business.

1. Price elasticity
He wished he knew that it was easier to raise prices than most of us think it is. For example, if you’ve ever raised your training rates, you know that most people shrug it off, and even if a few don’t, you still end up ahead of the game (by charging more and working less).

2. Increased transaction size
Kennedy wished he had spent more time earlier in his career doing everything possible to increase transaction size.

We offer single workouts, but bundle those into upsells and even membership to increase the average transaction value.

Same way McDonald’s made billions with supersizing…even at 10 cents per “upsell”, with all those customers, it adds up over time.

3. Continuity
Kennedy didn’t put recurring revenue in place early enough. And most trainers don’t either.

But I guarantee you and I could find a way to create a monthly product you could deliver to your clients.
