My blog is still pretty "small scale" right now and I'm in the process of optimizing everything, but I've noticed that whenever I add a personal story, little jokes, or somehow give my readers a glimpse into my life them more comments and emails I get. It's funny; I think I get about half fitness questions and half lifestyle questions. Some of the best advice I ever got was from Tim Ferriss. He said that the best way to connect with your reader was to talk to him or her like the two of you are sitting in a bar after two beers. I've even started to get more personal in my Tweets and Facebook updates, and it's working well. -Nate Excellent post.
