Money Making Membership Website Secrets

Last Thursday, Ryan Lee hauled me up in front of the “class” at his Bootcamp, and made me spill the beans on making money with a membership site. I gave all the pro’s and con’s, such as:

- Recurring monthly revenuew or large lump-sum payments

- Direct feedback from members about what they like and dislike in your business

- The ability to strengthen your community of people who love your stuff


- A lot of work for less reward than other types of projects

- Technical assistance often required

- Slightly advanced computing skills required (unless you outsource everything)

OVERALL… I look at a membership site the same way you’d look at a child. A lot of work, but something you wouldn’t trade for the world. Helping out my members is one of my most favorite things to do each day (in addition to helping OSP Inner Circle Members!).

But those are just a few of the pro’s and con’s of membership sites, there’s a lot more I’ll be discussing in the October OSP newsletter.

But then today while I was listening to a CD in the car (on the way home from the dog park with Bally), I had an “A-Ha” moment. The CD I was listening to was about systems, and the speaker was discussing his referral system when it hit me! I haven’t been using my Membership Site to maximize referrals.

As you know, I’m a big fan of the membership model and RIGHT THERE WITH You on personality marketing or ‘authenticity marketing’ as I like to think of it.

As we speak, I’m undergoing an extreme site makeover to add more ME. It’s a bit OUT of my comfort zone, but should be a FUN example of JUST what you’re talking about
