How to Choose Your Niche Market to Make More Money Online

Starting a fitness website can be tough. For a lot of folks, they just aren’t sure what niche market to focus on to make more money online.

But here’s the thing…picking your focus – aka your niche – is oneof the most important decisions you’ll make when selling fitness info products online.

So here’s my advice to you…

You can’t force your niche.

Instead, your niche should stick out like a sore thumb.

Take a look at Holly Rigsby from

Holly was a mom who needed to lose fat and she trains lots of moms who needed to lose fat. Therefore, her niche was obvious.

So was mine. I wrote for Men’s Health, whose audience is composed of busy guys who want to lose fat and gain muscle in short workouts they could do at home.

So was Jay Ferruggia’s. He was a former skinny guy who through trial and error learned how to build muscle fast, and he trained dozens ofyoung guys just like himself.

In each case above, the niche was obvious. We would have wasted so much time if we had tried to venture into something else. (Although see below for what happened when I did make that mistake…)

Everyone listed above knew their niche like the back of their hand.

And you must too. Your niche should be a result of your expertise and best success stories.

It shouldn’t be just something you “want” to do, or think would be popular. Otherwise, you’ll waste a lot of time and energy.

In fact, when I first started, I picked the wrong niche and spent almost 2 years spinning my wheels.

You see, back in the day, everyone wanted to be the next Charles Poliquin – the famous strength coach who was really popular online.

So every trainer started writing Poliquin-like articles and programs – including me. It was ridiculous. Sure I trained some bodybuilders and athletes, but they weren’t my niche market.

It wasn’t until I started focusing on what I knew best – helping guys lose fat in short workouts with dumbells and bodyweight exercises only – that my business started moving into top gear.

Another problem many trainers make is being too general.

So if you are struggling to find your niche market and make more money online, here are some questions to ask yourself right now…

1) WHO do you want to reach?

2) WHO are your greatest success stories?

3) WHO do you love working with the most?

4) In WHAT area are you an expert more than 90% of other trainers?

You need to pick one area and then focus.

Jay Ferruggia -> Skinny guys workouts
Holly Rigsby -> Moms that want to lose the baby fat
You -> ???
